Public education is a right for every child in Utah, but the question remains: does every child truly have an equitable opportunity to learn and succeed? Growing up on the west side of Salt Lake City, Hoang experienced firsthand the challenges of underfunded schools and limited resources. Today, her children’s educational journey on the east side looks vastly different, marked by greater access to programs, support, and opportunities. This stark contrast shaped Hoang’s lifelong passion for ensuring that all children, regardless of zip code or background, receive the quality education they deserve.

Hoang firmly believes that education cannot be treated with a one-size-fits-all approach. Each community has unique needs, and creating effective solutions requires listening, empathy, and collaboration. Legislators must move beyond statistics and budget lines to learn from the lived experiences of families, students, and educators. By grounding policy decisions in real stories and real struggles, lawmakers can craft solutions that deliver meaningful change.

As a leader, Hoang is committed to bridging political divides and working across party lines to create practical, compassionate policies that support all Utah children. Her vision is to ensure that no child is left behind simply because of where they live or the economic status of their family. Every child in Utah deserves access to a quality, equitable education and Hoang is ready to fight for it.
